Question 1

What is Roofing Protection Scheme?

Accepted Answer

Roofing Protection Scheme is a directory of vetted RPS member roofing professionals. We help homeowners find approved contractors and understand the RPS process for eligible approved roofing work.

Question 2

How is this different from other directories?

Accepted Answer

Unlike general trade directories, we specialise exclusively in roofing and we thoroughly vet every member before they join. RPS members can offer eligible customers optional RPS Protection — up to £20,000 over 10 years, independently inspected — protection that other directories simply don't offer.

Question 3

Does it cost anything to use Roofing Protection Scheme?

Accepted Answer

Homeowners can browse the RPS directory, but the managed homeowner service costs £49. That service helps you understand the roofing issue and find a suitable vetted RPS member. Any RPS protection or guarantee applies only to eligible approved work that follows the required scheme process.

Question 4

What exactly does RPS Protection cover?

Accepted Answer

RPS protection or guarantee is not automatic. It only applies to eligible approved work that follows the required scheme process, including any inspection and sign-off requirements. Membership alone does not protect every job.

Question 5

How do I make a claim?

Accepted Answer

If you need to make a claim, simply contact us with details of your project and the issue you've experienced. We'll investigate the matter, and if your claim is valid, we'll either arrange for the work to be corrected or provide compensation up to the protection limit.

Question 6

Are there any exclusions?

Accepted Answer

RPS Protection covers eligible work agreed with the member and registered under the scheme. It doesn't cover damage caused by factors outside the roofer's control (like storms occurring after work is completed), or work that wasn't part of the original agreement. Full terms are available on request.

Question 7

How long does RPS Protection last?

Accepted Answer

When RPS Protection activates, it lasts 10 years from the date of issue. Protection only applies to eligible work that has passed the required independent inspection and sign-off.

Question 8

How do I find a roofer in my area?

Accepted Answer

Simply use the search function on our homepage or the Find a Roofer page. Enter your town, city, or postcode, and we'll show you all verified members who cover your area. You can also filter by service type if you have specific requirements.

Question 9

How do I know the reviews are genuine?

Accepted Answer

All reviews on Roofing Protection Scheme are from verified customers who have used the member's services. We have systems in place to detect and remove fake reviews, and we regularly audit our review database to maintain integrity.

Question 10

Should I get multiple quotes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we always recommend getting at least 3 quotes for any roofing work. This helps you compare prices, approaches, and find the roofer who's the best fit for your project. All our members provide free quotes.

Question 11

What should I look for when choosing a roofer?

Accepted Answer

Look at their overall rating, read recent reviews, check what services they offer, and see how long they've been in business. Our members display an "RPS Member" badge, confirming they've passed our vetting process. You can ask about optional RPS Protection on eligible work.

Question 12

How can my company join Roofing Protection Scheme?

Accepted Answer

We're always looking for quality roofing professionals to join our network. Contact us to start the application process. You'll need to provide proof of insurance, business registration, and references. We'll then assess your application and conduct our vetting checks.

Question 13

What are the membership requirements?

Accepted Answer

Members must have valid public liability insurance, be properly registered as a business, have a track record of quality work, and commit to our customer service standards. We also require ongoing compliance with our code of conduct.

Question 14

How much does membership cost?

Accepted Answer

RPS membership is £49 per month. This includes a directory listing, member status and access to the RPS process for eligible approved work. Membership alone does not automatically protect every job. Contact us to start the application process.
